Big News! It’s Zaction News!

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

I have some big news about why I’m writing another episode of Zaction news instead of showing you my angelic little face. A tornado came and ruined the set of Zaction news. I know you’re all worried about me, but I’m okay! No I’m just kidding. The set of Zaction news is fine, and I’ll be back with a video next week so watch for it. Meanwhile, the fake story from last week was the Michigan man who found the treasure in the lake. Good job if you picked it, but I think this weeks could be a little harder. Without further delay, here we go.

The first story today is about a man who made over 50,000 dollars in the last 4 years counterfeiting baseball tickets. The man posted his fake tickets on websites like Stubhub, or Craigs list, and sold them to people at a lower than face value price. In four years he was not caught, because through the use of some amazing technology, the tickets were actually acceptable at 6 major league baseball parks. The man was finally caught this past weekend when a ticket he sold was for a seat that had already been purchased. Two fans attempted to sit in the same seat, and after some investigating by park staff, the fake ticket was discovered, and the man was busted. Isn’t it incredible that in four years he never managed to make this mistake before?

Our second story today is about an Italian hotel that mistakenly booked rooms for one cent! A four star hotel in Italy wanted to offer a two-night stay at half price, but instead listed the price as one cent. 1,400 room nights were booked, and the hotel claims that they will honor this price for the 1,400 room nights, but no more after that. I think it’s safe to assume that those profit losses are coming out of some one’s paycheck……

The final story today is one of the most incredible ever seen on Zaction news. Several London ATMs are beginning to offer the “Cockney” slang language as an option for withdrawals. Customers are now asked to enter their “huckleberry finn” instead of their pin, and the withdrawal “sausage and mash” instead of cash. Many customers have ripped their cards out of the ATM fearing that it has been tampered with. I wonder how long it will be before American ATMs offer a slang option….
