Well hello there…how was your Memorial Day weekend?? I hope it was just as fun as mine. Nothing better then barbecue in the hot sun next to the pool (minus the sunburn). The weekend is the first official weekend of summer and I couldn’t be more excited. Who else remembers that horrible “Snowpocalypse” we had?
It felt like every single day we had a new foot of snow. I couldn’t take the constant shoveling, so I’m sure glad to see the hot sun for once. Since the summer is here already, I’m sure you all have some great plans ahead!
For my summer plans, I’ll be doing stand up comedy in Times Square…which is like a dream come true for me. I’ll also be visiting Los Angeles sometime this summer and also doing stand up out there. BUT the first thing I do when I get off the plane is visiting the closest In-N-Out Burger…
It’s my all-time favorite food…and I haven’t even tried it yet! It’s amazing to love a food so much just by looking at pictures of it. While I’m out in L.A. I also plan to drive out to Las Vegas and hopefully walk away with some money (and dignity). Then towards the end of the summer I’m hoping to move out and get a place with a couple of my friends and also visit North Carolina with my girlfriend and her family to close out the summer in the last week of August.
After reading all that…I just noticed how busy this summer is going to be! I hope you guys have an amazing summer!

If you do not have Netflix account yet I do not know what you are waiting for. There are a number of membership types you can choose from and for a very reasonable price. For only $9 a month I get unlimited streaming movies and tv show from their website and 1 DVD rental at a time. Meaning if for some reason they don’t have the movie your looking for on their site you can just have them send you a DVD of it. Best thing is there is no limit! You can watch as many dvd’s as you can in one month and still only be charged the 9 dollars I pay! If your still with blockbuster it allmost seems a bit foolish no? You pay a couple bucks per rental and you only get what you rent instead of unlimited streaming to your Tv, Xbox, Playstation, Wii, and/or computer.
In Blockbusters defense they have been making changes because they are now in danger of going out of business. Lately I have been seeing more and more of them closing down and I am willing to bet it's because they waited too long to adapt and Netflix took advantage of that. As sad as that may be I still can't refuse the deal and convenience that Netflix gives. So again I ask....

For those in college, this post will probably most aptly apply to you.
It’s been a week since I finished my sophomore year at PBU, and let me just tell you how homesick I am for my friends there. When you’re in high school, and your summer starts, your friends probably don’t live more than 5 or 6 miles away from you, but when you’re in college, your closest friends could be from Indiana, California, or Arizona, and there’s just NO WAY that you can see them over the summer. Luckily thought, my best friend (you’ll see her a lot in the video) lives about an hour and a half away. While that’s not super far, with the price of gas, and the fact that we both work two jobs makes it a little hard to find a time that works for both of us, and that’s when I have the money for that type of gas. So until we can hang out again, I made this video.

What kind of steps do you take when it comes to saving some of your paycheck? Do you even save at all?
The problem with the economy is people keep spending, spending, spending. The main priority people should have is to first, get rid of their debt. Splitting your paycheck and putting some of it away every week can really help out in the long run. If you calculate how much money you spend a month by just going out to eat, you would be surprised how much money you are wasting (like myself).
Setting saving goals like myself can really help, I plan on having a few grand in my bank account before the end of the summer. Saving money needs discipline, because without it, you’ll just go and blow your money.
My biggest problem is using my debit card, it’s addicting. I was out to eat a few weeks ago and my card was declined. I had run my checking account dry. Luckily I had money in my savings to pay my bill. That night was my wake up call, how long until you have yours?

So like I’ve been saying in my last couple of posts, I’ve moved into an apartment for the summer, and needless to say it’s interesting.
For the first time I’ve had my own stove and microwave, big fridge, etc right in my living space, so obviously, what I buy from the grocery store is gonna be different than when all I had was a hot pot in my room.
As I may have mentioned in a previous post, grilled cheese is my most favorite food of all time. It’s what I get when I go out to Denny’s or the Great American, but recently, especially now that I can make it on my own, I’ve realized how much I’ve been way overspending on one of the cheapest meals known to man. When you go to the Great American, you can get a grilled cheese for $5.99, but then you have to tip, so typically a grilled cheese with fries and a water will put you out about 8 bucks. Not cool.
My friend Matt (my neighbor), and I have decided that once a week this summer, we will make a “real meal” together. This week , of course, would be what else, but grilled cheese!

I got:
1 20 piece loaf of wheat bread: $1.50
1 pack of 16 “cheese product” slices: $1
(I’ve since realized that unless you want REAL cheese it cost like $4 or $5 a package…yeah not happening. I’ll wait for it to go on sale or something.)
1 tub of spreadable butter: $1.50
So for less than $5, Matt and I had all of the products to enjoy our grilled cheese. (Sorry my cell camera makes things purple.)
But really though, think about it. Last Friday I spent 8 bucks on a grilled cheese.
I can now make 10 of these for less than 50 cents each.
Does this make you guys think about how you’re spending your money, eating out at restaurants?

Okay so I was out shopping for clothes the other day at Neshaminy Mall, which by the way is very expensive, and in the midst of checking out the cashier was someone from my high school. Unfortunately me and this "person" never really got along so I found my self hiding in the back of the store debating whether or not I should let something so stupid bother me. Well in the end I did, I didn't end up buying anything from that store and I waited for my moment to get out of there without being seen. Now the reason I'm bringing this up is because, I went to another store and bought the same pair of glasses I was going to buy, but for about $35 more.
"$35 more dollars?!"
I know Macaulay Culkin, I was stupid.
I find that avoiding people just to simply avoid a brief awkward moment was a bit immature of me and in the end hurt my wallet in the process. After that moment I began to think about all the times that I have done things like that and I realize I kind of do it a lot. Am I the only person who is like this, or is it completely normal?

After getting plenty of work done today, I finally got a chance to put up this blog…and I think you can all relate to this.
Sometimes in life there are moments that just make your entire day…like if you find money on the ground. What about if you leave a store and realizing something in your bag isn’t on your receipt and you got it for free? That’s what I like to call “Sticking it to the corporate fatcats.”
There’s also a special type of feeling, like when you can get 2 Egg McMuffins for $3…what is the world coming to? I’m not quite sure but I look forward to it.
I truly believe that a person’s greatest triumph can be from completing one’s own life goals. I my own life goals list and I’m at 30 and counting…I plan on making it 100 goals long. My 100th goal will just be finishing the list itself. If I can somehow manage to complete at least half of the least. I’ll be more then happy. I advise you guys to do the same!
Until next time world…

Ok not really.
Yesterday and today I have been moving from my dorm room, into my apartment, where I plan on living for the summer. Not only will I be hanging out with the Flipside Crew, but I’ll be working at my school, and some other places as well.
As most people probably know, living away from home isn’t cheap, especially in this area, but hopefully, I will be able to make it all work, but that means that I will be living SUPER frugally, I’ll start posting some about my money saving/spending adventures another day. But for now, I will continue organizing my life out from these little boxes and try to regain some sort of normalcy in here!
Here’s a video of one of my co-workers….he’s a charmer, and ladies if you want his number, I have it.

Remember how simple things were when you were a kid?
You had no responsibilities and the only care you had was which toy you should play with next or what video game to play. I had certain things that made my entire childhood. One of my most covenant possessions is actually my Nintendo 64. It’s unspeakable how much of my childhood time was consumed by it’s addicting gameplay. I wouldn’t trade the fun times I had playing with it for anything.
What was something you had as a kid that changed your life? Everyone has something that will remind them of more simpler and fun times, its just a shame when some people have to let those things go. It’s always nice to look into the past once in a while.
Now let me stop typing before my laptop battery dies.
