Need Last Minute Gift Ideas?

Wednesday, December 22, 2010
0 Comments so far.

After a trip around the CU, asking just about every person we saw, Shane, Alison and I got some pretty decent ideas for that gift you’ve been putting off all month.

Of course, there’s going to be slightly different criteria upon which you can use these ideas, for instance, don’t get a bottle of wine for your nephew.

Here’s a nice list that could keep going and going…but it ends

  1. Gift Card (Ihop, Wawa, Applebees, Chipotle)
  2. Bottle O’ Wine (cozy night with that special someone)
  3. Sports Memorabilia (License plate frame, football, jersey)
  4. Picture Mashup/Collage with sentimental value (Brownie Points w/ anybody)
  5. Visa Gift Card (virtually like giving cash/more personal)

As you can see, it’s a list that you may have already exhausted, but there’s guaranteed to be at least one thing for every person on your list at the Mall.  Don’t stress yourself out if you cant find something, just move on and get back to it later.

Check out this consumer reports update on the holiday, and as for yourself, good luck finishing up the list!

Secret Shopping – A different way to make cash

Saturday, December 18, 2010
0 Comments so far.

A business analysis service called Secret Shopper, founded in 1990, is now a mainly web based company and geared toward improving your local businesses. When signing up to be a Secret Shopper, you’ll be assigned to go into different businesses (hair salon, restaurant, veterinarian office) and interact as a normal customer would.

FREE!!

Your feedback to the website about the quality of service you’ve received will be what the company is paying you for, and you will receive a compensation in the mail, typically a small amount more, or exactly what you paid. As a secret shopper, I’ve gotten several free haircuts at Supercuts, something that would eventually add up.

Honestly, Who Doesn't Like Free Stuff?

Becoming a Secret Shopper could be your way to cut back those little expenses that end up becoming a big albatross.

Unbelievable New Theft Technology

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

A new, major flaw has been discovered with credit/debit cards containing RFID chips, otherwise known as cards that can be waved and accepted quickly without swiping (pay pass).

REST ASSURED, YOU WILL HAVE NO RISK OF RFID THEFT WITH A FLIPSIDE CARD

These newfangled sensor devices (which may just outline the extent of our laziness), initially designed for speedy checkout, open up a whole new forum for 21st century criminals.  The RFID chip which scans to local card sensors can be picked up by hand held, improvised scanners made at home by real criminals. This really enhances the already prominent issue of credit/debit card theft…I’ve had to change my Bank of America card 3 times!!

Check out the video, consider becoming RFID secure, and be sure to stay tuned to Project Flipside

Flipside Week Recap- Palisades HS

Sunday, December 12, 2010
0 Comments so far.

Free flipside shirts indeed

Standing in line (well, not exactly a line) to see what it's all about

This past Friday, Shane and I moseyed on up-county to Palisades High School, our third and newest Bucks First branch location and favorite spot to kick it during lunchtime and pass out some swag.

Of course, we also spoke to a few classes (Special thanks to Mrs. Mom and Mr. Gilbert!), just to let them know what kinda AWESOME stuff we have to offer. (text banking, flip yo fees cough cough)

Creeped out? It's okay buddy, we're friendly...I PROMISE

As we’re known to do,  we passed out the swagness and we had to deal simultaneously with the swarming disorganization that’s laced with a few sugar dosed, CRAZY CHARACTERS……..

Which is what brings me to this week’s Flipside Fail contestant, caught red handed trying to nab a free shirt from the supply box (it would have been free if he just kept getting back in line to re-plinkoboard):

A look of shame...maybe he'll know to respect flipside next time around ;-D

But hey, they’re still an awesome group of kids, and most high school communities could only dream of having one as friendly, fun and inviting as this one.

Thanks again to Palisades High School, we look forward to returning soon!

Dexter

Friday, December 10, 2010
0 Comments so far.

I’ve been home sick for the past week, so I looked through Netflix instant watch to find something to watch. The first two seasons of Dexter are instantly playable from home, and I kept hearing great things about the show so I tried watching it. After watching the first episode I was hooked, it’s honestly the best show I’ve ever seen! Dexter does forensic work for the police and is also a serial killer, but he only kills bad people.

Like I said the first two seasons you can watch instantly on Netflix, or if you have the channel ‘Showtime’ you can catch it Sundays at 10pm, but they’re on season 5 right now. I highly recommend checking this show out!!!
