It may be a good idea to get a credit card at a young age because it’ll help boost your credit score if used the right way! Don’t forget its a huge responsibility though.

First off, a credit card is something that you HAVE to pay back. There is no getting around it. If you forget to pay your bill, your FICO score will drop. Remember a credit card doesn’t make you seem cool, it just adds stress to your life, so if you don’t think you can handle it try to stay away from credit cards. Try to pay how bill instead of just the minimum balance due because your are more likely to forget the bill than pay it off. The goal of owning a credit is not to raise your limit. A higher limit is not always a good thing. It may cause more trouble than its worth. If you are thinking about getting a credit card, make sure you know what you are getting yourself into.

I know the feeling of not knowing how much cash is in your checking account…which leads to the awkward moment where you grit your teeth and swipe your card, hoping to god that it doesn’t reject the transaction.
THIS IS 2010, People!!! We have solutions
Bank Account Ignorance Syndrome (BAIS) is a serious epidemic hitting Gen Y, and it’s something that Bucks County residents should know. There are better places for your money than the sock drawer and more convenient financial establishments than the one your parents use. Snap out of it and realize that it’s time to take control of your money once and for all. The flipside account is the number 1 way to get that in gear. Be in control of your spending and savings with text banking and worry about the more important things in life.

Are you trying to stay out of debt? There are many ways you can avoid debt in your life, unfortunately parents aren’t finding it as easy to talk to their kids about finances. This is currently why our demographic, also known as Generation Y, aren’t figuring out how to handle our money. There are studies out that show that people love spending money, but hate talking about it. I found out that back in September there was national money talk night, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have a money talk night with your parents any night of the week. Especially when you have Project Flipside to help you out!
Reports show that even though Generation Y are struggling with more debt than their parents they are more independent mentally and also extremely tech savvy! Even more reports suggest to find comfort in web based programs which is even more encouraging for us! So spread the word about our website, youtube, facebook, and twitter to make sure you and your friends are financially savvy!

From holding desirable positions in your workplace to making and maintaining friendships and intimate relationships, communication is key! If you want to get a good job, you probably are going to need to sit through an interview. The way you present yourself (the way you communicate) is extremely important. Most employers don’t want to hire someone who is uncomfortable in an interview, because this shows them that you most likely won’t be able to communicate effectively with other members of the organization, thus making there company less efficient. Even once you land the job communicating effectively will help to land you a promotion. Although people commonly forget, communication skills aren’t something you are just born with, you learn them just like everything else. So we’re can you learn and how can you become a better communicator?
1. BOOKS – There are many books written on how to communicate more effectively. Just go to any Barnes & Noble and check the ‘Self-Improvement’ isle. One book I personally recommend is Dale Carnegie’s “How to Win Friends & Influence People.” The book was written in the 1930′s, and is still possibly the most possible the most popular book on building and influencing healthy personal and professional relationships.
2. COLLEGE CLASSES – If you are in college, you have access to many great opportunities for strengthening your communication skills. Take an Interpersonal Communications class to learn the fundamentals, or a Public Speaking course get practice in front of a large group.
3. PRACTICE! – Learning the skills is important to understanding how to communicate, but if you don’t practice you won’t get any better. Practice smiling and looking people in the eyes. Practice in front of a mirror; make sure you can speak calmly and clearly. Take as many opportunities to speak in front of a group as you can, especially if you are uncomfortable doing it. If you are uncomfortable communicating in private or public, the only way you are going to get better is by facing your fears and taking a leap. Just because you are uncomfortable now, doesn’t mean it will always be that way; it’s like learning to ride a bike; it’s really difficult at first, but after enough practice it’s easy.
And remember, being able to speak well is one thing, but if you aren’t able to listen, you will surely fail to communicate well. Listening is just as important, if not more!

Does everyone have a car with expensive car insurance? Well there are many ways that you can lower your insurance rate. One way would be to go for a cheaper/used car. Newer cars are more expensive to insure so getting a used car would definitely be a smarter idea. If you are driving your parents cars make sure you are assigned to a specific one because depending on what kind of car they drive you may or may not be paying more money. Another great way to save money on car insurance would be to take a drivers ed course. This qualifies you as a safe driver. Getting good grades also qualifies you for a cheaper teen insurance rates. About 85% of the time it is smarter to qualify under your parents insurance policy instead of going out of your own to find a policy. Shop around for different rates! If you shop around you are more likely to find a cheaper policy and every six months be sure to check in with your insurance agent to make sure you are saving the most money.
