IPHONE …is it really worth it?

Hey everyone, I recently returned from my school’s senior week. While I was away, I was unfortunate enough to have my phone smashed by a friend of mine. Now, I’m stuck with only a work phone which recieves no text messages from friends of mine. I have been using a Samsung cellphone, which was produced sometime around the early 2000′s. (THERE ISN’T EVEN A FRONT SCREEN!)iphone_home

So here’s the deal…i’ve been pricing out a few Iphones, and I need a real experts advice on whether the extra money would be worth buying the phone. More importantly…would the extra 200 some dollars be worth internet? Please help a guy out. Thanks

Tie Tying 101

For some of you, tying a tie may be a mundane, and simple task. For people like myslef, however, it’s similar to trying to breathe under water. There just isn’t anything fun about tying a tie. First of all, if you’re putting a tie on, you’re probably getting ready to go somewhere that you don’t want to be. Whether it’s your girlfriend making you go to some fancy dinner that you’re paying for, or perhaps the dreaded “let’s go dancing tonight” has put you in the unfortunate shirt-and-tie situation. Regardless, putting a tie on is so difficult, and can be done so many ways. I just don’t even see the need. I mean really girls, do we look that much better with a tie on? I’d love to know. Anyway, I’ve decided to include a video that shows you how to do it. I sure hope it helpsfooter

5 things that could have improved Transformers Revenge of The Fallen

Tuesday, June 30, 2009
0 Comments so far.

Yes there will be spoilers.

transformers-2-megatron

1. More Megatron

They decided to revive the coolest (and sadly underused) character from the first film. The idea was him and his newly introduced boss were to wage war on earth. They even gave Megatron a new look for what was supposed to be his larger roll. He’s awesome in this movie but the director decided to shift gears and make the movie about Shia and two of the lamest robots in film history right when Megatron was getting interesting. Hopefully the third film will finally give him the screen time he deserves.

2. Actually having The Fallen…in Revenge of THE FALLEN.

This is supposed to be transformers rip off…er homage of Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars. He is the title character but don’t expect to see him much in here. His role in this film is the equivalent of  Venoms in Spiderman 3…so not good. I haven’t seen a title character this absent from his own film since Tim Burtons Batman.

3. Christian bale

why not?

edit this out

4. Major Editing

About a good 45 minutes of unfunny robot fart jokes, racial stereotyping, clichéd drug and college humor, and Shia making funny faces could have been erased from this film and helped it flowed a lot more.

5. Keeping your word

Next time you promise that Optimus Prime will be a bigger character and have more screen time…don’t kill him less than halfway through your film and try to make up for it by bringing him back for ten minutes at the end.

The N Result

By now you know that the Flipside crew spent their Friday night partying at the battle of the bands at Oxford Valley Mall. Some awesome bands played at the concert, but one stuck out in particular: “The N Result.” The phenomenal lyrics, instrumentals, and vocals of this band provided for an amazing musical experience. The band already has some pretty incredible accomplishments, including opening for both Pharell Williams and Motion City Sound Track. The band is composed of six members- Ross Lippencott, Chase Innis, Dan Bascom, Eitan Levine, Bobby Tarantino, and Nate Sankaray. The bluesy/pop band has toured up and down the East Coast. I’m telling you, these guys are unreal. The musical talent is incredible, and they were even approachable after the show. In case you can’t tell, I’m pretty impressed with the band. If you’re super upset that you missed the show, don’t worry. Below I have included a link to their Myspace and Facebook pages which both have their tour schedules, as well as samples of their music. Even better than that, the band will be back at Oxford Valley Mall to do a full show on August 14th, so put it on your calender! Look for the Flipside crew at Oxford Valley Mall all summer, you never know what amazing bands you might discover while you’re getting free stuff from the Crew. Keep checking the page for updates!

WHO’S DOWN FOR PAINTBALL!?!?

Alright, there are gonna be some insanely random blogs being put up here for the rest of the year… so get used to it. Paintball…anybody ever play? I’m sure there will be plenty of ranging knowledge of the sport, from adamant speedball players, to the occasional woods ball player. Basically, I’m writing to make it known that paintball is a SERIOUSLY fun hobby. For those who don’t know, paintball is a game played with an air powered gun that shoots shells filled with paint, the object often being to shoot your opponents. There are many different variations of game play, but basically it’s one teams job to wipe out the other team…one shot and you’re out. It stings a little bit, but is no doubt worth it for the amount of fun you’ll have. Anybody play paintball? Also, comment and let me know what you think about a paintball day up in the poconos at an official paintball field, hosted by your own Bucks First FCU Flipside Crew!

Battle of the Bands!!!!

The summer has officially begun. The flipside crew kicked it off with some free Rita’s today, and we met some pretty cool people. Overall, it was a great way to start out the summer. As we were trying to decide what kind of events we should go to next, we started thinking about things that are inherently summer. After ruling out a trip to the tanning salon, or putting ten tons of sand in our house and having a beach party, we finally had the perfect idea. We decided to become a major sponsor for the Oxford Valley Mall’s Summer concert series. The all-summer-long fun provided by music, friends, and giveaways simply can’t be topped.

This friday night the Mall will be hosting a “Battle of the Bands” which will feature 7 local bands. These bands are: Antidote everything, The N result, Rushmore, A life without reason, GLORG, The Hereafter, and Rare Candy. Regardless of whether you are a fan of any of these groups, the music will be great, there will be a rock climbing wall, and the three studly members of the flipside crew will be there giving away all kinds of free stuff!!!!

So come hang out with us this Friday June 19th, starting at 5:00 at the Oxford Valley mall. I promise, you’re gonna love it. Check out the link above to the concert series home page if you need more information!

Seinfeld: The contest

So a month ago I bought Seinfeld tickets. I have been a fan of Jerry since I was very little and his show has taught me many things about friends, relationships, and life. So as you could guess seeing him perform stand up live has been a long dream of mine. Well I finally got my tickets and noticed something funny. It turns out tickets.com thought it would be better if I see Seinfeld in…Oregon.

I was devistated and I have since come to terms with this horrible ordeal. It was clear that i would never see my idol…

OR WOULD I?

turns out theres a contest (for fans of the show I am not talking about THAT kind of contest) where you can win free tickets. Its real simple all you have to do is take a trip down town and follow these rules.

http://www.kimmelcenter.org/mail/yadayada.html

I know I will be there making up for all the money i lost and hopefully redeeming myself!
