So college has begun again and I’ve started buying food, clothes, books, and other supplies which has left me hurting financially. As I cry myself to sleep at night thinking about how sad all of these expenses are, I often like to think about what I would do with even just a small amount of extra money. Today I’m just talking about a grand. It may not be a huge sum of money, but it would significantly reduce the stress I’m currently feeling.
I think the first thing I would do is buy my books, which will run me close to 500$ total for this semester. Next I would go ahead and buy a decent amount of food and drinks to keep in my dorm for the semester. If I spent about 150$ I should be covered till December since this is only to supplement my meal plan. With my remaining 350$ I would purchase two new hockey sticks which I DESPERATELY need to get me through this season, and I could do that with 100$. The last 250$ would be used to fund my “fun” for the semester. You know what I mean; trips to the movies, tickets for Red Wings games, concert tickets for Blink 182. Very important items that I may have to live without.
So maybe this doesn’t exactly encourage you to be financially savvy, but it’s a nice day dream to have on the second day of classes. Some of you may think some of these items are the least important items you could possibly think of, but that’s why this is my day dream, not yours. If you have any fantastic ideas about what you would do with a 1,000 dollar gift, leave me a comment. I can’t promise I will make it come true, but at least we can dream together
