A business analysis service called Secret Shopper, founded in 1990, is now a mainly web based company and geared toward improving your local businesses. When signing up to be a Secret Shopper, you’ll be assigned to go into different businesses (hair salon, restaurant, veterinarian office) and interact as a normal customer would.

As a secret shopper, I’ve gotten several free haircuts at Supercuts, something that would eventually add up.
